Administration / Coaching
– One of the most influential females in Purple Aces athletics history
– Coached the women’s basketball team from 1969-76; was the first coach in program history
– Led the Aces to their first season over .500, going 9-4 in 1972-73
– Also spent time coaching softball, tennis and volleyball; helped six UE sports get established at the varsity level
– Was a professor in health and physical education for 32 years beginning in 1966, became the chair of the department in 1978
– The Lois Patton Award was named in her honor and recognizes the most outstanding senior student-athlete, taking into account athletics, academics and community service
