– Graduate of Castle High School who played four years at Evansville (1993-96)

– Named an ABCA All-American shortstop in 1996

– COSIDA All-District V player in 1996 while being named an ABCA All-Region student-athlete

– All-MVC First Team as a senior while also garnering MVC Academic First Team honors; also honored as part of the MVC All-Centenial Team

– His efforts in 1996 earned him the William V. Slyker award as the top male student-athlete at UE

– Senior campaign saw him bat .394 (fifth all-time) while posting 87 hits (T-5) and 34 stolen bases (T-3)

– 1996 draft pick by the Montreal Expos

– Played in the Majors from 2002 through 2013, accumulating an even 1,000 hits; a career .272 hitter had 13 home runs, 265 RBI and 74 steals

– Carroll played for six MLB franchises: Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals, Colorado Rockies, Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals
