Hall of Fame

– Member of UE basketball team from 1936-38

– As a sophomore in ’35-36, led team to an 11-7 mark playing for coach Bill Slyker

– Had a storied head coaching career that included college stops at Vanderbilt, Saint Louis and Rice

– Was also coach at Trinity (Texas) and led the Tigers to the NCAA College Division Tournament and a Southland Conference title

– SLU was in the Missouri Valley Conference as he coached them from 1969-74; the Billikens won the MVC in 1971 and he was named the Coach of the Year
