Former football player and Evansville native Charlie Fisher received induction following his successful playing career at UE and a coaching career that spanned five decades. Fisher was a letterwinner at UE from 1951-53 after his high school career at Reitz. Once recruited by Bear Bryant, Fisher won the Kiwanis Sportsmanship Award in 1953 as an Outstanding Football Scholar. In 1954, he began his coaching career at Mississinewa High School where he coached until 1976 before taking over again from 1981 through 1994. Fisher led his squads to 13 conference championships as a coach and the field at Mississinewa HS was named in his honor. For his achievements, he was inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame in August of 2006.
