Hall of Fame

– Was a pioneer for women’s athletics at the University of Evansville

– Spent 37 years with the college

– Joined the staff in 1935 as an associate professor of physical education

– Aside from her work as a professor, she taught all women’s physical education courses and supervised women’s intramural sports

– The Ida Stieler Award was named in her honor and is given on a yearly basis to the most outstanding female student-athlete at UE
